Hi,I am Lekha Gajula!
Founder/Director of SweGna Arts
I was born in Hyderabad, India. I am an illustrious Kuchipudi dancer, founder and director of SweGna Arts, a Kuchipudi dance school that is very close to my heart. I am also the teacher, fashion designer, and a graduate in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
My journey in Kuchipudi began under the esteemed guidance of my gurus, Ms. Pasumarthi Deepika, Mr. Markandeya Sharma, and Mrs. Jyothsna Vikkirala. To further enrich my skills, I also trained in Bharatanatyam under guru Mr. Pramod Kumar Reddy, a student of the legendary dancer Dr. Alekhya Punjala.
With 16 years of learning and 7 years of teaching experience, my passion and dedication to the art of dance continue to grow. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Kuchipudi from the reputed university of SiliconAndhra, which further deepens my understanding and expertise in this beautiful art form.
My goal is to explore and promote Kuchipudi, sharing this cultural heritage beyond the boundaries of my home country, India. Through SweGna Arts, I conduct various dance classes, events, and performances to achieve this mission.
Achievements
- Active Participation – International Program: I had the honor of participating in the World Cultural Festival in March 2016, held in New Delhi, India.
- Stage Performances: I have performed over 50 stage shows at renowned auditoriums like Ravindra Bharathi, Shilparamam, Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, HariHara Kala Bhavan, and famous temples in Hyderabad, India.
